  1. Pet Comfort:
    bullet

Repositioning the Solar lid and Den roof creates a gap at the house peak allows the rising warm air to escape.   Combined with the vent holes in the front polycarbonate panel, a convection air current is created to bring in fresh air for your pet’s comfort.  A weather shield keeps out rain when the holes are uncovered.

Insulated panels are used on the floor and back of the Solar unit.  The entire Den--sides, walls and roof—uses insulated panels.  The panels are made of 3/4” Styrofoam insulation between the sheeting.  Think of it a Styrofoam cooler with cedar sheeting on both sides.

Runners are used to raise the home above the cold or wet ground.  With the clevises on the front of the runners allows easy hook up with a rope to reposition or tow the home.

2.     Air Control: A sliding cover on the front vented panel can uncover the holes to maximize the air flow through the home or seal off the holes to reduce compromising solar heat passively gained.

3.   High Passive Solar Energy Collection: Using polycarbonate on sides, front and roof maximize solar energy collection when the unit is faced south.  The insulated back and floor panels help retain the heat adding to your pet’s comfort.

4.   High Clarity: The Solar unit design and use of polycarbonate lets pets view their territory on almost a 270° side-to- side view and horizon-to-horizon view. A great view and protection from inclement weather conditions at the same time.

5.   Strength: Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic with a high impact strength making it virtually unbreakable.  It is a material used in the manufacture of bullet-resisting glass.

6.   Tick and Flea Deterrent: Cedar is a natural deterrent to ticks and fleas.  While the outside of the Den a sealer applied at the factory, the interiors of the Solar and the Den are left natural to benefit from its natural characteristics.

7.   Cleaning: The removable Solar lid and Den roofs allow owners to easily clean both units.

8.   Shielded Entrance: The entrance is located opposite the prevailing winds and weather when the Solar unit faces south, virtually eliminating exposure to wind chill or inclement weather.  A weather shield above the entrance further reduces the chance pf rain or snow from entering the unit.

9.   Whelping: A pan sold as an accessory can be used in both the Den and the Solar unit to facilitate cleaning.  The mother can feel secure in the Den and still give the owner ease in being able to observe and service the pups by lifting up or removing the roof.  The mother can also get away to the Solar unit or outside while the pups are confined to initially the Den and later the Solar unit.

10. Physical and Psychological Security: Pets are protected from rain, snow and wind chill while retaining the full visual capability.  They have a sense of being protected from all sides.  Dens are sized to assist in retaining the dog’s own body heat, much as a den dug in the wild would do.  Pets can still view much of their territory while lying in their den and looking out the den entrance—again, fully protected from the elements.

Pet owners also receive psychological security in knowing their pet is physically secure and actually able to see their pet enjoying itself.

11. Easy Assembly: The medium, large and extra large are shipped with each unit fully assembled but boxed separately.  The two units can be securely fastened together in 10 – 15 minutes using predrilled holes.
